Description: Coolefield House, one of Alistair Sawday's Special Places to Stay, is located in a parkland setting on the banks of the River Blackwater. The house, built some 2 years ago, is in the Georgian style with high ceilings and spacious rooms, suggesting a preceding time of refinement, a quality of gracefulness and good taste. 6 large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are furnished and decorated individually, being adaptable for families and small parties. Each bedroom has a thermostatic control allowing adjustment of the underfloor heating. Breakfast, a renowned meal at Coolefield House, can be taken in the dining room or, weather permitting, al fresco on the morning terrace. Breads are freshly baked and our own hens lay delicious organic eggs. Much of what we serve is sourced locally from artisan food producers and, in season, the menu includes wild trout from the River Blackwater. Coolefield House is available for Exclusive Weddings & Private Parties.
